I'm still catching up on older stuff but of all the "new" music I bought this year this is the one that's probably been played the most. A nice return to "Grave Dancers Union" and "Let Your Dim Light Shine" form after "Candy from a Stranger." Chocked full of protype Pirner rockers and ballads. Sentimental favorite too, as it was Karl Mueller's last album. - Toad - (8)

‘Talk-singers’ like Kurt Wagner don’t hold a lot of appeal here but I live in hope that one day he will be seen for the genius he is. Recovering from cancer has made for a fairly melancholy album but there is still terrific dark humour in the restrained arrangements. Lambchop’s songs seep into your soul in a way quite unlike most other music.                      - Loon Rider - (5)
