Not the best DBT album ever, but even a so-so record by these guys easily falls into my top 5.
- Mookie - (9)
The latest in a series of greatest. - Zoody - (8) The Drive By Truckers have always been my favorite band. Except for when I was a teenager and had not heard of them. My favorite band then was Metallica. DBT's new CD is not as good as their other ones and so I place them in the number 2 spot behind my new favorite band Lucero. - Max Power - (7) A bit of a fall-off after Decoration Day and Dirty South ... still puts them at No. 4 on my year-end list. The upside with these guys seems limitless. - Ranchhand - (7) Well....It's the DBTs. - Denim - (6) |

| Great album, although not as good IMO as there last two, they make my list by default. Still one of my top three bands, even there sub-par stuff is better than most. Also, best concert I\'ve ever seen. Patterson & Co. rock. - Wilcoduck - (5) | |||||||||||
| This album is a bit of a letdown by DBT standards, but a great album none the less. Kind of a grower. - Roy McRoy - (5) | |||||||||||
| Like Lucero's album this year, I didn’t warm to this album as much as some of their previous releases. That aside, still a great album by a very talented band. I hope they can one day give us another “Decoration Day” Their pinnacle album IMO. - Warren1 - (3) | |||||||||||
| Probably the weakest and most conventional release from the Truckers, it's understandable that there might be a misstep after the trifecta of Southern Rock Opera, Decoration Day and The Dirty South. Perhaps the band is just indulging themselves a bit and that certainly is forgivable seeing as there are still some great songs on this disc. Let's just hope that the band isn't running out of steam and that their next album will yield another masterpiece. - Acuff-Rose - (1) | |||||||||||

The new indie rock heavyweights have arrived. A remarkable debut.
- Melt - (10)
Band of Horses, on paper, seems like everything I shouldn't like in a band. Atmospheric folk pop-rock with reverb. The same things that make me not care for MMJ, the band people most frequently compare them to, make me love Band of Horses. The songwriting is top notch. The tunes are hypnotic. The reverb never distracts from the song. Great record. "The Funeral" is an immediate classic. - Trailer - (9) Lush and beautiful, “Everything All the Time” is a warning shot. A band with a charismatic singer/songwriter, strong pop sensibilities, and the wonderful ability to rock as well as whisper. Solid effort. - Track 11 (9) St. Augustine is simply breathtaking. - Friendof (7) Excellent debut...may sound a bit like MMJ but I enjoyed this a hell of a lot more than Z. Can't wait to see what these guys churn out next. - Beldo (6) |

| A new band I discovered as a result of this forum and what a find. I can’t stop listening to this great album. Thanks altcountrytab for putting me on to “Band of Horses.” Definitely the ”find” of 07. I am off to see them in downtown Melbourne in 3 days time, can't wait. - Warren1 - (6) | |||||||||||
| There aren't too many bands that can put out a release like this so early on. This album is ambient-rock incarnate....with an atmospheric sound that should define the band for years to come. - Jesse Aaron - (3) | |||||||||||
| From the crash of First Song on the shore this album washes you into the invigorating swell of their music. There are obvious echoes of Wayne Coyne but once you’re used to the vocals, these songs get better with successive listenings. - Loon Rider - (2) | |||||||||||
